...... but the land barons down there have a powerful lobby group with lots of cash behind them ... we will very likely take some hits and they may be severe, however it is vitally important that for once this country stand up on its hind legs, develop a little political spine, and don't take that bullying crap no more.

I am surprised that the US timber lobby members haven't put some native americans on their boards so they can claim this to be a cultural issue which are exempt from the Free Trade agreement. Dubya could then bring out the hardwood and start swinging with gusto:-))

I heard the interview also and the first thing that came to mind was that it wasn't Carter's voice..just didn't sound right to me ...maybe Mr Peanut was on a jelly bean high or is a member of the the alliance party<<gg>>
