Should vod make a bid to take control of vz wireless, it could conceivably portend serious consideration of making a move to cdma2000 for other wireless properties owned/or controlled by vod.

Good point. However, I doubt that Vodafone would try to control either Verizon or Verizon Wireless simply to consider a move to CDMA2000. The inherent worth of Verizon and /or Verizon Wireless as investments would drive the deal. As has been pointed out earlier today, Verizon is presently a very attractive property for a number of reasons. Wouldn't at all be surprised is some activity along takeover lines takes place. Vodafone after all has the experience of going after Mannesman, another big fish.
