Good point. I guess that's what I really meant to say about my earlier comments about anti-virus programs. Having them actively run in the background during the trading day is NOT a good thing.

Jim,
I remember buying my first computer and taking the leap to get a whopping 8 MB of RAM instead of the standard 4MB! Now we consider 256 vs. 512 or a GB! Apparently the boundaries will continue to stretch...

The flat panel monitor sounds great, but pretty spendy. I think I will put the extra $ into more RAM instead.
When Norton's loads, it gives the option of working in the background or not. Easy to click "no".

Jim, How well does the flat panel display run off the Dell Notebook? Which Graphics card did u go with? Was thinking of doing the same thing. Dave
