Nope, they are both projections ("theories") based on models, which are based in one case on economic data and in the other on data in the physical sciences.

I agree with you, though. The Republicans are going, with GWB at the helm, to preside over a recession. And will be running in the future with arsenic (surplus deaths will be able to be estimated) in their record, and further depressing environmental data, not to mention trying to make it as hard as possible for women who choose an abortion to get one.

If Cheney can't serve out his term, it will look like kind of poor judgment for GW to have chosen a VP who'd had, what was it, three heart attacks? And a bipass operation?

They'll have a hard time selling their record, I'm afraid.

Maybe I misunderestimate their chances, though.

You know things like the Kyoto deal have a time and place. It's been called faulity but it hasn't been fixed.

I say fix the thing and implement the result when it won't damage the economy as bad.

Bush bad, he doesn't like it. Clinton good, he sat on it for years doing nothing. Thinking like that makes me want to get some Preporation H.
