Then there are those economists who say with the Fed acting diligently to redo its errors and nominal interest rates being so low, it would be a historic anomaly for there to be a recession now. No one knows in the short run but I'd rather bet on historical trends being accurate over the longer haul. That and I just hate recessions! If you're going to predict something, you might as well follow the trend. Optimistic while things are going up and pessimistic when things are going down.
