>> How do you expect prices to hold up as supply surges -- with uncertain demand??

I expect prices to drop, but unit volume to surge. There are many many applications that can use larger memory, if the price is low. I really don't know how competition will shape up a year or two from now. Other than a shakeout always leaves the survivors in better position. New entrants are discouraged, and demand catches up to supply.

Regarding Intel, they don't have the same advantage as in processors, where backward compatibility is more important than low cost or superior technology.
