The problem is that this quarters earnings are going to suck worse than last quarter, and the ceo's are still not going to know what to say about forward guidance. Nothing has changed except a bunch more layoffs and the dollar is so high that foreign sales have to be nil.

The talking heads will be trying to pump the next rate cut idea, or the long term buy and hold "cant pick a bottom" bs to get people to hang in there.

I will feel better about a long term bottom once half the worthless analysts lose their jobs. They wont be on CNBC because they will be selling used cars.

We probably bounce tomorrow morning for all those that believe that tech stocks are low because of window undressing, but I put the chances of a sustainable rally at about 0 until we get through this earnings season.

M.

>>>Perhaps reported earnings don't look so bad ... but my understanding was that many co's sales are back-end loaded ... and as of Friday those companies now know for sure whether they need to warn of not. The coming week could be loaded with minefields of that nature perhaps.....<<<

Good point. Looks like we got our shoes in the sheep doo-doo.
