Ron: I think you're in one of those delusionary states of mind. I've never met an environmentalist who wasn't also very much against war. You're right, there are some people against wind turbines, but turbines aren't all that bad... I'm very much for them, based on my readings so far. however, I would rather see such technologies as solar thermal troughs, which are also competitive w/ conventional energy, and they can be retrofitted into existing power plants, merely replacing the natural gas portion of the system. The troughs direct solar heat to a pipe filled with oil or some other liquid, which in turn heats water and creates the steam necessary to turn the turbines: eren.doe.gov But I'm not against wind turbines, and I'm quite certain most environmentalists would much rather see those than conventional power plants. - Zen
