Have a look at ACTUAL dollar sales in computers over the last three years, then have a look at the hedonic dollar figure that is used in the computation of the U.S. GDP.

If you subtract the former from the latter , the GDP number is rather pathetic. This isn't intuitive stuff, it's simple arithmetic. Note that this baloney also COMPOUNDS over time. The U.S. GDP and productivity numbers are a complete fraud.

The first to dig this out was the good Doctor "R", who Mike frequently mentions. I commend his monthly to you. Probably the best government stats comber around.

Incidentally, I actually spent a bunch of time confirming Dr. "R"'s early work as I simply didn't believe it. He was deadly accurate.
