Re: IMO, France is the driver of this Euro Army. I believe it is a dumb idea. I grant that there's a "French idiosyncrasy" and that, most of the time, it manifests itself as anti-Americanism, neo-Luddism (José Bové) and the like... Yet, Americans should not fool themselves about the rest of Europe. Although Germans, Italians, Spaniards,... might sometimes be upset and exasperated by the French jingoists, they nevertheless TACITLY approve of France's assertiveness. Germany basically plays the US against France... Germany, after all, is a European country --not some Canadian province! Gus. PS. I'm not French --I've merely a French education.
