donald same question short dia or how about the financials? I believe there is a basket of finacials? Do you feel the money will just come out of the market or go into the Naz?

Donald, I was also considering the same thing. BUT, look at what happened to the DOW in the last 20 minutes. This market is INSANE!

Don,
Re: Shorting the DOW. Are you shorting the DOW or the S&P 500? I know you use Profunds. Are you using any other instruments? I've had good results using Profunds in spite of buying them through a broker who requires fund orders 90 minutes before the markets close. I'm getting ready to sign up with Profunds directly. I believe you can place orders with them as close as 10 minutes to the market close.

I think if the DOW drops significantly, it will drag the NASDAQ down with it. The NAPM index number was up, but the Chicago NAPM number released a couple of days ago was way down. The inconsistency bothers me. I am losing confidence in sources of data I typically use to assess economic and market fundamentals. As a result, I am both more conservative and more dependent on technical analysis.
