20 years ago, AMD probably had a shot at being the ruthless monopolist. They certainly had many chances to come up with a good processor in the past 20 years, and with Athlon they finally did. I'm excited about their prospects, but Jerry Sanders press relations is almost enough to make me sell the stock.

He's made the past 8 months look horrible when in reality they actually weren't that bad. His promises have turned into failed objectives, and he's made AMD look untrustworthy and unreliable. He may do an excellent job running the company on the inside (that's what everyone seems to think and I really have no idea since I don't work there or know anyone who does), but if he never spoke to the press again it'd probably be in every stock holder's best interest.
