Dear E. No doubt the situation you site has a victim of a terrible crime. But the child of the rapist is also the child of the mother. Will that child of the mother live or be killed. How far back in the ancestry of every living human is the chill who was a result of a rape. I also expect that one might find that the closer one gets to royalty the closer one get to a rape child. So the question is are we destroying the rapist spawn or killing an innocent child who can be loving and caring and all the good things a human can be. Are we destroying the opportunity of a mother to transfigure the act of an evil person into a beautiful child of the mother. The mother, the victim may be the taker or others may take on the joy and gift of raising a child. Is the child inherently evil and thus deserves death? If this is the argument then does any person who is the result of rape inherently evil and thus should be destroyed. And if you want to go down the incest route all the same questions or ideas apply. Is a fetus a human with rights or not. The child is not accountable for the sins of the parent or parents. So if you believe in God and God created a biology that allows for a rapist to create life, I have difficulty in coming up with a reason to question the how or why a life started as a basis for ending it. I do believe that ending life is an evil. In life shit happens. Accidents, crime, In one year, in two, in five will the life of a victim be different because of the life or death of a child. Maybe yes and maybe no. Love and compassion are what the victims of a crime need. With love and compassion all are stronger and life is better. Have you ever seen a sleeping baby that you could hate.
