hard to believe this is the reason--i see this as too bizarre--if so this has become a pathetic pathetic churning in market by institutions--they are getting desperate it seems <<Live Headline 02-Apr-01 12:33 ET Market Action : Breakdown in the Semiconductor Index (see 12:10 comment) has triggered selling throughout the tech sector. Decline to fresh session low by the Nasdaq (-33) potentially exposes 1794 intraday low tested twice on Friday. A break here would represent a new multi-yr low for the Nasdaq. As seen on Friday, investors also fleeing the blue chips (Dow -70) in preparation for a potential new low in tech. Also contributing to Dow weakness was inability to breach Dow 10,000 level (Index pulled up 7 1/2 pts shy)>>.
