I don't think the AMAT thread poster said the ANWR is not beautiful. He said the part in the north where the drilling would occur is not. The ANWR is as big as an eastern state and only a small part of it would be used for drilling.

"That place is a sacred, spiritual place. The patterned ground and the pastel light, the hourly, daily and seasonal changes painting the mts. and valleys.....I simply feel blessed to see it at all."

Is arguing that we shouldn't drill the ANWR because it is a "sacred spiritual place" a violation of the separation of church and state? <g>

Afganistan has the Taliban, we have G.W. Bush

It's getting harder and harder to see any difference between the two.

Out of a population of 250 million, a minority of about 50 million people voted for Bush. More citizens voted for his opponent than for him, but he instigated rioting mobs to halt vote counting and suborned ambitious Justices to putsch himself into office by a single vote.

Just like the Taliban, Bush and his fellow fanatics are destroying our common heritage in the name of their masters.

The mullahs control the Taliban and the radical right controls Bush.

At least we have less than a two year wait until he's impeached.

Thank goodness for small favors, eh?
