There have been at least 4 analyst downgrades on MSFT in the last two weeks, the dow and nasdaq have cratered, and MSFT is the ONLY GODDAMN STOCK PERIOD that has kept going up. What the hell gives? The only thing I can guess is that a mountain of paper still exists from all the poot selling MSFT did over the last 2 years, and MSFT execs have decided the only way to avoid paying out 50 billion on those options is to spend a goodly portion of the 20 billion in cash to prop their stock.
