Bush is doing his best to make sure that doesn't happen. (i.e. have long lives.)

Tim,

Whether we do or don't doesn't really matter. Unless we have short lives, I suspect we will see a lot of movement towards it. That movement will speed up once the EU successfully completes its melding.

At some point soon, I anticipate Canada, the US and Mexico will create a similar union in order to compete with the EU. It will require Mexico's economy to 'catch up' which its doing right now.
