It won't produce budget deficits. If we can't control spending then the growing spending by the federal government will produce budget deficits. Social security and medicare have nothing to raid. There is no real trust fund. The government writes IOUs to itself and considers this a trust fund. I geuss I'll make myself a billionaire by lending myself the money...

Our taxes are lower but that doesn't mean they are low. Tax revenue as a percentage of our GDP is at or close to the highest it has ever been during peacetime in the US. Just because it is worse for someone else doesn't mean it is not bad for us.
