Looks like the US is ripe for 3G, guys! I see a similarity with developing countries some years ago when you needed a telephone line and had to pay up front and wait two years.

It worked like that: You ordered phone and line and they will ask for your address. They look in to the exchange serving the area you live and there was a terminal free. Then they look in the primary cable there was a free pair. Then they would look in the secondary cable and there was a waiting list of 200 people waiting for a line. You would have to join the queue.

Then we started building mobile networks. Today in developing countries there are millions of lines built but no takers.
I saw what mobile networks did with fixed line.
When 3G comes, your today's problems will look outlandish as the case I wrote above.
