How about taking out our own plane with the cruise missile?
That way we can be sure that there is no technology to steal in it.
I heard a report that the crew destroys the equipment when they land
but I haven't heard it verified.

<<The DELTA force should be gearing up as we speak and go in there and get the plane, or at least destroy it to purtect its secret's. Isnt that why we create those frigin cruise missiles for 10 mill a pop? Its only a matter of time before China tries to grab TAIWAN. >>

I agree mike, but I'm not sure I like the idea of WW3.

The other problem I have is WHY these pilots landed the plane there...??? They knew better and should have sunk it way way out in the ocean...sissies didn't want to die for their country, ashamed.

Was the move in silver today that the market fears or anticipates failure of the(over?) supply from China?

<< The
fact that the chinese ran into our plane and is holding it to steal Technology is abhorent. >>

How do you know that's true?
Although I haven't followed this story, it sounds to me like the Chinese caught some spys red handed.
OOps, I forgot--- The US can do what it likes, wherever and whenever it likes....

>>The fact that the chinese ran into our plane and is holding it to steal Technology is abhorent.<<

The crew have been trained to destroy the most sensitive secret equipment, e.g, cryptology, and had time to do it.

In light of the fact that we are considering selling more fancy weapons to Taiwan, the timing of this incident doesn't seem like a coincidence to me. They are testing us.

Remember, we have taken the position that there is only one China, and that Taiwan is part of China, since 1972, the Shanghai Communique issued jointly by China and President Nixon. We have agreed to sell arms to Taiwan for self defense, but no longer have a public policy of defending Taiwan. Taiwan is one of those golden geese the Chinese are too shrewd to kill, IMO. Check out the State Department position on Taiwan. I was surprised to see the close economic ties that Taiwan has formed within the PRC.
