I agree that proper regulation of guns will produce a safer country. But then, the NRA would certainly be opposed to that.

The example I cited, I actually stole from the aforeposted article. You could make an argument that disease and guns are equivalent; outside of their culling effect, they have no socially redeeming purpose.
