"Gay couples are denied the right enjoyed by other married couples"

Gay couples are not married couples. You are in the minority that believes that gay marriages are and should be the same as straight marriages. The "rights" you allude to are for married couples.

I asked earlier and will ask again. What is the difference between really good life long friends (of the same sex) that are not interested in each other sexually and one's that are? I think the difference is that one group enjoys homosexual behavior and the other doesn't. Why should they get benefits for that? Why shouldn't the life long friends get the same benefit?

What am I missing?
