I believe you are citing the "guns don't kill people, people kill people". Well, I'm pretty sure that it's the invasive quality of spent projectiles as they interact with your vital organs that kills you, courtesy of a projectile delivery system more commonly called a gun.

Your flip comment on Jodie merely proves the point; Hinkley didn't need a good reason, all he needed was a gun.
