What your post made me realize is that Bush has not moved against the manipulations
of California energy prices because these people may have contributed a great deal
of money to his campaign and/or to the Republican party.

Should anyone prove that collusion took place between Bush or any members of his administration,
then what Don wishes might become a consideration. The American people might call for
an Impeachment should they come to believe that Bush has sacrificed their pocketbooks in
order to line the pockets of the oil, gas, electric and utility companies.

If Gore had been elected, I believe he would have helped out.

Coal Scores With Wager on Bush

Belief That Mineral Is Part of 'Balanced' Energy Policy Lifts Industry Outlook

"Electric utilities and their executives and employees last year gave $18.4 million to candidates and
parties, of which $12.4 million went to Republicans, according to the Center for Responsive Politics, a
campaign research group. Southern Co., one of the nation's largest coal-burning power producers,
opposes the Kyoto protocol, under which signatory nations, including the
United States, agreed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to 1990 levels. The Senate has never ratified
the agreement"
