How do you people up North take stand it?

Tom, it's like the Corps. It builds character.

I'm going to have a lot better character when this particular winter is over, as it has been the worst in people's memory up here in Maine. We still have a 2 to 3 foot ground cover of snow which should last us comfortably into May. That's down from 5 feet in places where there were no drifts. It's been mighty hard on my Goldens, who still disappear into crevasses as they make their way around what used to be a backyard.

Added to the greatest market crash in history, the energy crisis, and now war threatening in five or six different places -- all I can say is that this is one hell of a way to kick off a new century.

we enjoy more of the summer than you do
and less of the spring and autumn than you do
almost zero hot steamy summer days over 90 degrees
with big humidity
I can wait, and will be outside in August
when you are inside with your air conditioning on "high"
