I DIDN'T know that! I have about five windows running at once though-- including two with WH. How would I tell it (Alt-tab) which one I wanted to see?RIght now I just click on the one I want/

so I should buy some puts if i think it is going to 1000, right?
Well, kind of. If you have streaming quotes and can track both the options and the SPX itself for a day, you'll see how much they move around. It's really amazing. All these patterns emerge, with trading channels, and directions, and it's just REALLY SO COOL. You would want to buy when it is at the top of a channel or at a resistance point in order to make the money when it falls and know the supports and when to sell. Then you have to follow everything else going on that could affect it.
Poet could probably explain this intelligently.
Are you thinking about doing options? Poet could give you the right people and threads to read.

All good advice from Rambi. I would only add that you might spend some time getting a feel for the decay rates of puts/calls depending on how far out they are from expiry date.
