I would gladly NOT vote for any member of our State legislature that voted in favor of the deregulation bill. That includes Democrat or Republican.

Someone should get a list together of who was in power at the time which is 1996. Everyone who voted in favor should be tossed.

Whattenberg forsaw the crisis coming and he is to be applauded for that. He has a substantial amount of expertise in the area of energy. I don't agree that ALL environmentalists are eco-kooks. Many are, but there are some honest scientists that care about the environment. We can't throw away all concerns that are anti-pollution. We need to work together to bring about commonsense solutions. Scare tactics and divisive politics on either side of the political spectrum is not healthy. We end up divided and conquered by the special interest groups that exist on both sides of the aisle.

Whattenberg's assessment of the Sierra CLub is right on, IMHO.
