That might be one possible ending. But, mine is another. I happen to think it will be like an arms escalation; 'righteous' citizens will arm themselves with handguns, and criminals will escalate with more automatic weapons. I don't believe simply arming citizens will reduce the crime rate; drug addicts and sickos will continue to perform crimes. I think a better approach is to have a stronger, well armed police force; education and economic improvements; removal of drugs from the mainstream; and continued tough law enforcement.
