It doesn't work to buy a stock for the dividend and then sell it because the price goes up before the dividend and back down so you are where you started. Dividend stocks that you think are strong are good bets for now, just to hold and take the dividend.
But I'm worried about reits (like cei) because though they are strong now, if the economy keeps tanking, real estate will suffer too.
