first the mystery of these early morning posts:)--i generally wake up about this time fresh as a daisy so i find it's a good time to get a bit done and then i am ready to take some more bed time.
<The only problem is that this could take days, and days the market does not have> yes, this will be the case i think. But what do you think though of the state controlled media playing this up in a very negative way and anti-american rhetoric is encouraged----and as the message boards on the Chinese internet is reportedly loaded with "kill the americans" type sentiment.
I heard someone saying China now has an internal problem with dirt poor farm people trying make an exodus to the urban areas something evidently which the government doesn't want and they may find a crisis with the U.S. a good diversion for now.
The Taiwan is a big issue that will not go away, and i see Taiwan market down 3% right now.And evidently there is some top of the line anti-missile apparatus ticketed for delivery to Taiwan quite soon and this is where Bush is getting between a rock and hard place. There are elements in his support base that would be upset if he reneged on Taiwan.
and the Falun Gong as you say---and the human rights issue on the charges of virtual slave labor (and these are issues i am myself am quite sensitve and i am,upfront,i am a Free Tibet advocate(and like to se it as a passivist neutral zone in Asia) and i view the history of what China has done to Tibet to be criminal and genocidal and a systemic relentless move to annihilate their culture(and do not recognize China's claim to Tibet,it was just a brutal land grab in which millions of Tibetans were "eliminated".U.S has got use China's need for what we have to offer to get significant changes from them or we will end up morally corrupted in the name of what is good for business is good for business and on these other issues we will wear blinders.
also regards China claim that the Buddhist Priesthood constituted a theocracy in Tibet, the Dalai Lama is clear in stating no such theocracy would be re-instated and a democratic society be replaced in which he would refuse a position : but this is a huge and looooong topic.later,paxmax.
