right again. The magnitude of the bad news that could soon come out of csco could dwarf any of the metrics that are presently known.

That is a "could" not a "will". But clearly the risk in buying or holding right now is far greater than the potential upside reward.

I think CSCO is fairly valued at $15. This link makes a good ratio comparison of CSCO with the computer networking industry.

In terms of PE, PEG, sales and earnings growth rates, cash flow ratios, and gross margins, etc. CSCO is finally in-line with the industry, if not slightly undervalued.

I took an initial position, selling some Jan '03 $15 naked puts (a bullish position). I'd be very surprised to see CSCO at these prices in a year or so. If I am wrong, I'll gladly buy CSCO in Jan '03 for $15 (net $10-3/8 after options premium).

Oh, and I don't expect LU to go BK either. LU is easily a triple at current prices for those with patience. LU still has lots of good IP, scientists, etc. LU just needs a good management team, and that no doubt is on the way. The last CEO was a real turkey, and the board will replace him with someone very, very good.
