Wait! Isn't that government interference? :) I actually think you're right. We've taken a hard look at our energy usage in our house; purchased a new, more energy efficient refrigerator; and are looking at things like changing to flourescent bulbs, etc. Unfortunately, sometimes it takes a jolt to wake us up. Another instance was when the city of San Jose mandated a new garbage and recycling plan. We had to get all our garbage into a fairly small can; and us with six people, and two in diapers. I thought "no way". But I found that we were throwing away ALOT of recyclable stuff. Things like that can open your eyes as to the waste...
