But, you equated the fight for equal rights in the gay community with an assault on hallowed institutions. You invoked the logic that it was akin to destroying our ethical fabric. The reality is that 1) gays are in a minority, 2) they are oppressed. Not by everyone, and certainly not by you, but by some people. As long as those facts remain, I should be able to use the phrase 'oppressed minority' with relative ease. About the Boy Scouts: I was one, but I won't let me son be one. I believe the long term lesson of ethics (non-participation in an oppressive organization) is better than learning how to camp and earn merit badges. I can teach him how to pitch a tent...
