Or, as is even more likely, your child is shot in someone else's house on accident while looking at, or playing with, a gun. I am not a fan of gun ownership, but this country is so wedded to the gun, I am not sure it is possible to disarm it. We are a culture of violence loving, violence deifying people. But enough about that.

Interesting article in the New Republic about school killings. Many more children are mowed down while walking to school- yet there is little outcry about this. I hope you will find this worth reading- I did.

"so the fact that I do not have nor wish to have a gun does not exclude me from the discussion"

I never said it did. I said that your comments indicate you know very little about guns or gun ownership. That makes your opinion mean very little to me (and anyone who uses logic to shape their opinions). As an example, if you knew nothing about cars, you probably shouldn't be discussing how best to fix them. You could still choose not to have one if you wanted, but would carry little weight when you told someone else not to get one.

Another statement that reflects your lack of knowledge.

"To make a gun available to you, apparently we need to make it also available to Joe Z Criminal"

I know that in CA it is illegal for a felon to purchase or own a gun. I believe it is in the entire U.S. It IS legal for me to own one however, so nobody needs to "make a gun available" to me. Your statement reads like I have said that access must be made easier for me, and that I want it made easier in a way that makes it easier for criminals to get one. Nothing could be FURTHER from the truth.

You seem to live in a land of make believe.
