FBN Coprorate Strategic Planning COmmittee?

Bill Ulrich: "It's April already?! Sheeesh. I was still waiting for this year's January Effect to kick into gear. A memo from the FBN Corporate Strategic Planning Committee had gone around about putting a defoliant in Steve Ballmer's beard, but I never heard another peep after the functional spec went to 7th floor."

On this board, we ought to hope that you'd get poor sad ol' Eric Benhamou's beard... Oh, I missed that you did his head last year....

So sad to miss it. But next year, April Fool's Day will be a Monday, and there'll be plenty of time for whatever... as long as there's a market left. It sure is quiet, here... the chatter volume seems proportionate to the portfolio value.

Oh well. Such is life.

Dick

Does anyone know if their are regulations in regard to mechanical calling devices? This would be the reverse of an answering machine, where you receive a call and when you answer are put on hold after a brief message then have the choice of hanging up or sitting there on hold.

From I can determine is these things are actuated by the voice of the party being called, if the device doesn't trigger when someone answers it tallys it as a hang up.

My question goes to the responsibility of the person being called, are they required to hold or can they reject the call by simply hanging up? PG&E is using this and I nearly had my power turned off, due to the fact we dump all calls with recordings and tele-marketers in order to save our valuable time so as to be productive...rather than growing phones in our ears.
