The following article seems relevant, given the nature of many of the stocks discussed here.

Reverse splits: A stock's last gasp

PlanetRx.com couldn't pull it off. Neither could
Iwerks Entertainment, CareMatrix, EGlobe, DonnKenny or Biomune Systems.
Gerald Stevens and On-Point Technology Systems (ONPT) are barely hanging
on. Musicmaker.com (HITS) is liquidating. All in all, there wasn't one reverse-stock
split execution last year that could, without argument, be labeled "successful."
