"By the way, just to keep people up to day, I sold all my Ariba today at a huge loss." I am sorry to hear this, as I am sure you know.

Per Skeeter: "there is no new economy". There was a "new economy". It began to take hold twenty years ago and you are indeed part of it. The things you describe do improve productivity -- your productivity. Improved productivity is the only way, the only way, to improve living standards. Since 1982 we have enjoyed the fruits of a "golden era' of productivity improvement and it showed up in residual form in ever rising stock prices. But a few years back the "new economy" was hijacked by stock speculators -- swindlers, liars, fools and a growing throng of greedy people whose numbers swelled to include almost every man, woman and child in America. Those people who turned the "new economy" into stock speculation contributed nothing. They have destroyed many people's finances. If it had gone on much longer it would have destroyed our economy.
