Agreed. They have the money to do what they want.
Like any business the actual product line has to show that
it is a profitable sometime in the future to get the R&D.
Following the Microsoft model there are ways to get in the
door.

And yes I do recall seeing the EMC post. Just that Cableworld published it this week and might have scared off
someone. A mute point though this morning.

900 thousand shares yesterday on no news is troubling.

IMO, 100 people hired three months ago does not a mature, viable VOD product make... (contrast that to 30 years of experience in the field) It calls to mind the temporary hubbub here surrounding new products by Sun and Unisys in past years - and we haven't heard much (if anything) since.

I'll believe it if/when I see one of those guys beat us head-to-head at a major MSO. Till then, I'm apt to believe that EMC just wants to throw together a vehicle to try to push its storage.
