Why can't Iridium send data reliably? (1) Too much extraneous noise in the system. (2) Relatively low transmission rate. (3) Tendency to drop calls more frequently than CDMA based systems.

1) What kind of noise is this?

2) Agreed

3) Maybe, in a cluttered environment, but I would have thought that Iridium should be able to hold calls OK in the open.
