other than a value fund i own, i've been cash/short since september, haven't lost any money, all cash now except for some crossworlds, and aether i foolishly bought yesterday, thought a next generation technology company trading at less than half cash might be a good buy, that was stupid.

and the trend is your friend until they lower rates when you least expect it, which will happen very soon. that's why i'm not short now, it was getting too easy to be short. not looking for a long term reversal of the trend, just a little short covering rally in April for 200-300 points. lots of cash on the sidelines, shorts etc...

Individually that is an OK attitude. But, my clients are going under, my suppliers are closing up and my friends have lost or are loosing their jobs.

Making or loosing money in this market is just a small part of the picture.
