Take it easy. I'm really liking my Handspring Prism by the way. My friend just bought a Qualcomm Phone/Palm. Set him back $500.00.

The China/US plane crisis will work itself out. Like him or not, this is a good test for our new President. I have faith.

Conflict has its own dynamics, soemtime it does start very innocently but takes a much more severe turn.Take it easy, the Chinese President need a face saver for domestic reasons to get out of this.

This is a major crisis, they would like some 'diplomatic concessions' through this hard stance, which in my opinion this is not right. This cat and mouse game has been played over the skies of South China sea and during cold war over Russia far too long , the rules of the game and engagements are quite clear, if China wants to play to the global galleries by demanding apologies on a game that is going on far too long, and epsionage game has certain honor, that they would never get. They should in my opinion if they want good relation with the west stop this incident aggravating any further and release the hostages. The Taiwan issue is the issue that keeps US engaged far in excess of their interests and ofcourse Taiwan being a US ally does not make US dear to China. And in my opinion it more to send a message to Taiwan and a change of 'strategic relationships' with the powers of the region and test Republican resolve that we see this hard stance emrging, with Putin incharge in Russia, I don't expet that he will anythintg but encourage China to delay this further. They will like to measure up Bush. Bush has test on hands a test of maturity and ability ot handle 'hot waters', I don't he will disappoint.

They cannot expect that US should give them the most favored nation status in trade and they in turn rub their nose on the ground, that does not happen. Certain level of arrogance goes with power, it is true for US and China but human history is witness to the fact the overall when big powers get entangled the only way to avoid confrontation is to compromise, the hardliners in China would and have taken the opportunity to make this a big case, but it needs to be handled properly, if this continues every day the US service man are kept in China the propensity of releasing them becomes lesser..The hostage darama and the 'world media' takes over the issue to make it an issue with false sense of security.
