Jim, All I can say on your post is....yeppers, unfortunately. Wish it was otherwise, but it's not...maybe if the venerable Dow drops to 7000 some folks will wake up?

And the notion of buying banks now...unreal. Didn't Wachovia and one other (Cap One?) just warn a week/two ago?
I am sure they will be the only ones, uh huh.
No troubles there, nope, haha.

This energy thing here in CA is one big stink that few are catching a whiff of yet. My local merchants are all raising prices, and they are quick to tell ya "PG&E, so sorry, but PG&E". The Asian contagion of '98 is gonna be the energy contagion of '01, I fear.
