I liked today's action. POG opened strong, but gave back much of its early gain. Gold stocks opened soft, but closed very strong with XAU up 3.4%. I like it when gold stocks outperform gold.

Could be sarcastic unless one likes to see value going south and at least gold is seemingly less volatile right now. Can you imagine what could happen if some of the holders of us treasuries didn't want to hold and currency was hedged the wrong way at the same time. The thought of that set my head spinning in politically uncomfortable world.

Richard, for the first time in over a year they mention gold stocks holding up the value. Maybe they not doing ANYTHING but holding value. This the role of gold - preservation of wealth. Personally I'm in favour of physical gold, there is so much complicity about hedging, puts and calls that the first winner will be pure metal. Beside, after NASDAQ trash even the ordinary people will pay attention to P/E.
