After-hours spreads reflect the peculiarities of the few who participate. I haven't noticed spreads being excessive during regular trading hours...but I really haven't been monitoring. I just buy when I see 'I can't believe it's this f**king low' prices. Unfortunately that's occurred at several level on the way down. OTOH, I sold half my prior position in the mid 20's when it was looking a bit overbought and tired.
