Andy, you are a good fellow, but you cannot play Humpty Dumpty. Words do not have the meanings you assign to them. On your definition, anyplace with laws governing anything is socialist. On that account, socialism just seems like, well, common sense, and is emptied not only of specific meaning, but even of rhetorical content. Socialism does not exist until the markets, especially the capital markets, are under the substantial direction of the government, interferred with to promote the redistribution of income towards greater equality.
