i think we will see a recognizable capitulation into the INTERMEDIATE term low, and a low volume/disinterest bottom at the final low.

but your scenario is worthy of consideration too, since it could be argued that we have seen capitulation in many individual issues. i think though that the Dow needs to break noticeably too...in the previous two supercycle bears it was also the last index to go, but go it did. in '29 the curb market (NAZ's predecessor) had also declined quite a bit before the Dow tanked, and likewise in the 70's, the NAZ was leading the downward spiral (remember the unassailable 'nifty fifty'?).

too many people still watch cnbc for this to be true end of bear market...there will still be volatility...
