In your usually myopic view, you fail to acknowledge the fact that for 5000 years, China was a feudal society. The last Emperor of China was deposed in 1912. For twelve years, China was under a weak republic. The Kuomintang gained prominence in the government in 1924, and pursued campaigns against the Communists until WWII. During Civil War, the Kuomintang lost power in the mainland to the Communists in 1949, and have been in Taiwan ever-since. Hardly illegitimate. ~SB~
