Rich: I may not be following your argument, but I am responding to your posts. “Hey Joe, what makes you think that Taiwan is anything different than a part of China, except for US interface, just as the south was a part of the US in the civil war? “ My response was: “Following your logic, America is a part of Britain, as are India, South Africa, etc. Hell, we should give the country back to the Indians. “ My point is that what used to be isn’t what is now. The fact is that Taiwan is an independent country and regardless of history or of proximity they have a right to exist and China has no right to treat them any different than any other sovereign country. Or to put it another way. Suppose the South had won the war and become a sovereign nation 100 years ago. Would we be justified in invading that sovereign nation, today. Little joe
