"IMO, this is really an issue of business ethics"

If prices had increased, don't you think Alcatel would sue AMD if they decided, "Oh sorry, Cisco offered more so we cancelled your contract." I imagine AMD will have a little softness in flash, but mostly in growth of flash. Since AMD has many high-profile customers, letting them know they'll stand by their end of the contracts, but it's only fair that the customers do likewise.

The Virtual Gorilla will increase in stature on April 18th, IMHO. Ok, enough of the red, let's paint this place green the rest of the week. I guess it'd be ok if we pull the Dow and Naz back up with us.

Still long (and smarting a bit),
CB

Not only that, it also blackens Alcatel's name. Unlikely they'd get favourable contracts with other suppliers now. An advert to the world that Alcatel welches on agreements.

ursula, I wonder if AMD caught Alcatel selling on the spot flash market while buying contract?
All thos AMD parts on the spot gotta come from somewhere?
That would aggravate AMD as they were foregoing the spot profit to comply with their contract and now that spot hass fallen below contract and the game cannot be played that way Alcatel wants out. I am sure if spot increased as it will this summer Alcatel will come begging.
