Tom, thanks for doing those two scans, and for reading between the lines about what I was trying to achieve.

As you guessed, what I wanted to see was how well these scans would identify stocks that were just showing buy signals using the settings that I've become used to, with StockCharts.com.

It's probably important for everyone to understand that, IMO, there are no good long-term buy signals in this declining market. In my case, I've pretty much decided that I'm not nimble enough to gamble, even short-term, on a buy signal, in this market.

At some point, the market will begin another tradable uptrend,
then these scans, and the MACD buy signals, could become valuable tools.

Good research on why we are seeing the differences from scans to charts.

Maybe later we can figure out whether there is a way to tweak those scan settings to get closer to a traditional MACD buy signal.
